And, It All Began in a Sleepy Surf Town in Southern California
GYDO is the brainchild of Ryan Williams, a resident of Carpinteria, CA, a small surf town just north of Los Angeles. The Carp locals enjoy socializing at their local wineries and breweries. Ryan can often be found sampling the joys of an IPA near the Pacific Coast Railway Tracks at a small brewery called Island Brewing Company. As an expat, Ryan missed his family and friends back in South Africa. And that is why Ran created GYDO Get Your Drink On mobile App. To share in that special moment; a birthday, job promotion or even an engagement is not easy when you are half way around the world. As a techie, Ryan wanted to change that! Truth be told his family should be buying him brews at his local for his birthday instead of a boring Facebook Happy Birthday post.
Well, it did. He did!
With a small group of highly motivated individuals, Ryan founded GYDO | Get Your Drink On mobile app. The early response was phenomenal. Everyone involved in his startup had friends and families across the world, who loved the idea of gifting drinks to each other. The app’s usage and traffic were on fire.
